Ohio District Scholarships

There are two Ohio District Scholarships. The first scholarship is from the Ohio Circle K Alumni Association for $500 and the second scholarship is from the Ohio Kiwanis District Foundation for $1,000. Circle K members who plan to apply must be recognized internationally, from a club in good standing, and not graduating in the spring of 2024.

Application Instructions: The application must be submitted no later than Friday, February 9th 2023; no late submissions will be accepted.  

  1. The completed ODCKI Scholarship Application Form.
  2. A copy of the applicant’s transcripts (either official or unofficial), which includes the Applicant’s name, classes, and overall GPA.
  3. A detailed description of service hours in chronological order using the following format: date, description of project, and number of hours.
  4. Essay no more than 750 words, answering the following prompt How have the CKI tenets of “Leadership, Fellowship and Service” shaped your life? 
  5. Recommendation Letter: Submit a letter of recommendation from your home club president, Faculty Advisor, or Kiwanis Advisor.

International Scholarships

Scholarships from the Kiwanis Children’s Fund are designed to help members of Circle K International and graduating members of Key Club International. The Children’s Fund appreciates the generous donors whose dedication to the Kiwanis family and education makes these scholarships possible.

Scholarship applications are posted November 1. Application submissions are due February 1. Apply now! 

Important: The Children’s Fund only has information regarding the scholarship awards it disburses. We do not have information on scholarships offered through Kiwanis districts or clubs. If you have questions regarding a scholarship award that is not listed below, contact your school or the Kiwanis club or district offering the scholarship.

Kiwanis Children’s Fund Scholarship
The Kiwanis Children’s Fund Scholarship is made possible by donations made in memory of J. Walker Field, David W. Hancock, Harry S. Himmel, Andrew Reardon, Stephen A. Sapaugh, Florence Skomba and Robert Thal. These donations were made to provide one scholarship opportunity to a deserving member in good standing of Circle K International.

Amount awarded: Two (2) scholarships will be awarded with a minimum award amount of US$2,300 each. Exact amount will be determined closer to the award date.

John E. Mayfield Circle K Scholarship
Former Kiwanis Children’s Fund President John E. Mayfield was a generous philanthropist and enthusiastic supporter of Kiwanis and the Children’s Fund. He established the John E. Mayfield Circle K Scholarship Fund in 2015. John died in 2017, but his good works continue.

Amount awarded: Minimum amount awarded US$1,300. Exact amount will be determined closer to the award date.

Who can apply? Members in good standing of Circle K International with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.

Circle K International Past Presidents’ Scholarship
The Circle K International Past Presidents’ Scholarship was created in 1990 to recognize current club presidents who have demonstrated excellence and dedication to CKI. It is given every year to one current club president.

Amount awarded: US$1,000
